Just wondering about your thoughts on what make of skid plate for my Apex. Want to get one but not sure of which one. Any comments and pictures would be great to give me an idea. Thanks.
I've used a Yamaha plate on every sled I've ever owned... ...except for 1 sled years ago-- a 1989 Phazer I bought brand new, it had less than 200 miles on it when I hit a steel stake at about 20 mph. It ripped right through the aluminum belly pan. I was lucky, it just missed everything under the hood--lesson learned.
I too have used the Yamaha skid-plates on all of my sleds, and no problems to report. There may be better aftermarket ones out there, but the OEM ones seem to do the job.
