Just wondering with the 165's what temp are we good for ?

Is it like jetting a 2 smoke or does the temp make a difference ?

My sled did fine at -26 c. Anything colder than that I stay inside, as the fun factor seems to go away

so it did not lean out at all at that temp ?
that is plenty safe for me

Don't confuse these 4 strokes with 2-smokes. The temperature band is soooooo wide with these babies.

Does the ECP kit allow any snow to get inside in high wind (blizzard) conditions? I would like to buy the stage II kit but I ride in -40C and leave it outside occasionally in 150 km/h winds. Do I need to worry about the seals on the carbs or snow penetrating the filters? I have heard of others having this problem up here with K&N's on too-smokers.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all the TY members. :rocks:

The prefilters disallow any snow from entering the carbs. They are included in the kit.

I have been told by many customers that they have ridden down to minus 10 and minus 15 degrees fahrenheit with no signs of being too lean. Keep in mind too that the CV slides act differently when cold light air is operating them. I would think that minus 20 fahrenheit would be the limit with the 165 main jets. I have absolutely no technical data because when it is that cold I am in the hot tub with a warm female body!

My buddy had k&ns on at -42 165 mains . The only problem he had was the oil breather filter froze up and he poped the pressure plugs on the side of cam cover .

as some said , I wont be out if it gets that cold .
Good to know though as i am heading north and it could be much colder than here
