Personally I would wait until you get 300-500 mile on it to let the motor loosen up. From the way everyone make it sound is it will take at least that long for break in. This is also my first 4 stroke but from what I have read after that 500 mile the sled really comes alive so I wouldn't waist any time tuning it until then. I will probably buy the mods before that but hold off installing until then.

I also say wait. Who knows, the RX might be more sled that you are up to right now.
Remember, 4-strokes have a ton of torque so you really cant compare it to any sled you have ever ridden.
If you liked the power of your 600 SDI you should like the RX-1 because its pretty similar. More power but heavier. The biggest difference however will be the huge bottom-end it will have...
I say run it 500 miles and it you want more throw a clutch kit in it and go from there.

I would put the mods on right away instead of waiting 3-500 miles. This way the engine will "get used" to the mods. I don´t think its good for the engine if you put the mods on after its broken in. Just my 2 cents.

Wait, and read the break-in section of your owners manual.

- Which one? I have 6
Do it right away. I put my turbo on from new, no problems. Just remember it will take longer to break in. 500 mi. is alright but I think you are looking at more like 1000mi.

Put the mods on later since then you'll actually be able to tell what (if anything) they're doing.

True story.
Years ago, a young man that worked for me bought a new Ranger pick-up. After work, we would have a few beers in my yard. We all noticed that Chris would run his truck for an hour, before leaaving. I asked him why he did it. He said he didn't want to teach the truck bad habits.
