Got chance to sit on the cat version last night and talk with a cat engineer in Marcell Mn . Really has me interested in the new Viper. The problem is I can't stand the nearest Yamaha dealer and like the nearest cat dealer. If the cats had Yamaha clutches the decision would be easy. I'd go cat. What to do?

Besides the clutches, why not go with the cat? I really do like the dealer, just not the product till now.

Either way you will get a good chassis with a proven motor.

This is a perplexing question for some.Personally I would go Yamaha since warranty is much better. I would think that if in a pinch a guy could also take a Viper into a Cat dealer to get serviced but would be out of pocket.

You live close enough to the Twin Cities metro and the dealers around it to make me think you are hoping we say you should go with the AC.

No brainer; Cat 1 year warranty with cat clutches that are a known problem or Yamaha with a 3 year warranty and Yamaha clutching

have delt with the same dealer on atv and dirtbikes and sleds a very long time, then when one of my sons insisted on buying a ktm, my local honda, yamaha dealer suports me in every way with parts and what ever else we need, if you have a dealer that you like and have a good relationship with it will pay off for you in the longrun, just my thinking!!!

Guessing I could have saved some cash going cat because I have a friend with ties at the dealership. That being said he is having some belt issues on his pro cross 800, he's blown 1 so far in 700 miles so has another buddy of mine in almost the same miles but they ride very hard. It was worth it for me to pay a little more forr Yammi clutching that and I got my warranty stretched to 5 yrs for $100 through Yamaha. Do what you think but I'm betting that Yammi has the clutches figured out on a Genesis 4 stroke better then cat who can't get their own 2 stroke right.

I would go with the dealer who gives you the best service and treats you fairly hands down! Stuff happens to sleds all the time and a good dealer that cares about they're customers will go to bat for you. ;)!

The cat dealer in Mazzeppa MN is a small family run shop 6 miles from where I live. I think I'm going with a XF 7000 cross tour. Gonna cross my fingers on clutch issues.
