Thanks Ray.
With the drag racing I was doing today I was glad I didn't have a 162". I was also glad I had a finger track (they hook up hard). I geared down to 21 x 42 and lost a little top end but it seems to get there quicker.
The Shock Wave helix sure made it easy to dial in more or less RPM.

hey guys sry im a noob with the rx1...
i just bought a 2003 RX-1 MTN limited edition (silver) with 2400 km on it.
i have a 151x15x2 (i think it is 15 wide)
anyway I ride mostly on lakes and flat trails...i want to get out more in groomed trails but still not a huge need for hill climbing....i was thinking of going to a 136 or maybe even a 144...what do you guys think?
also how do I change the pitch on my track...and what does changing the pitch do??

Welcome Stiffler, I'd leave your track length at 151 due to you proximity to mountains. Now that you have a "Mountain Sled' you never know when you'll get the urge to ride in at least the foothills to the mountains.
I'd stay with a 2" paddle (a finger track may be better for you) unless you are going to change your drivers.
If you are going to change your drivers you could go to 3" pitch drivers. The newest mountain tracks have gone to a 3" pitch (from 2.52") from center to center of holes in the track to lighten up the tracks. All mountain sled manufacturers (except Skidoo) now offer 3" tracks on their mountain sleds.
Skidoo has made their tracks lighter without going to a 2.52" pitch and I have heard the claim that 3.0" pitch tracks are more likely to stick the end of a slide rail through a track windows in certain situations but I haven't seen it personally.
Is it best to change your track pitch? Not now (unless you go to a a 162" x 2.5" Challenger). You have a ton of other things that will help you out much more than a track change.
