Well back when I was installing the turbo on my sled I had mentioned in a couple posts that my track had a couple minor flaws and was on its 3rd season. You guys told me I should change it but I resisted because I had allready put down $5000 on the turbo
. Well once again YOU WERE RIGHT
. I spit my track out at around 100mph yesterday on the lake. The good news is I controled the sled and got it slowed down without any further destruction. Just 2 days ago my buddy and I (both with turbo yammis) were on star lake racing as fast as we could in the only decent size bay out there and hitting our brakes at the last possible second to still get slowed down in time. The lake was glare ice with just about 1/2 inch of powder for lube. My speedo was hitting close to 135 out there on low boost. If I had lost the track then I would not be sitting here typing.
Now my question is:
What track should I buy?? and where should I get it?? What studs should I get?? Im looking for the best price but I want a good track since I have a turbo and would like not to have to control the sled at 100 with no track under it again anytime soon.
I was told by a couple guys to order a phazer track. Its one inch narrower and good for a couple mph on top end??
I had accord racing studs in this track and liked them. I also had extreme max studs a couple seasons ago in a suped up 700 and I liked them too.
Im thinking about getting the anti-ratchet drivers too. If I cant aford to do all 3 (studs, track, and drivers) then im gunna get a track that I can add the anti-ratchet drivers too this summer. I wouldnt install a track without studs.
Any ideas or info on discount places to get this stuff is greatly appreciated.
