05BLUEWARRIOR
Newbie
Hi everyone, i have an 05 warrior which i just hit 500 miles on. about ten miles prior to that i was out hitting the trails with some buds and i was riding pretty aggressively, as you should with any warrior, and i would stop at each intersection and wait for my buds to catch up. after the last stop i started out again and went about 50 feet and stopped again to talk with one of the guys, after starting up again and putting my helmet on i was bracing for a good launch and i gave it the gas and nothing happened, there was an aweful noise coming from my clutch and the first thing that came to my mind was i blew a belt, it was like a coughing noise and i shut the sled down to lift the hood and change the belt. but to my surprise, there was nothing wrong with the belt, just my secondary clutch was stuck wide open. basically i just grabbed the clutch and twistd it until it snapped back into place. since then, and its only been a couple weeks, it has made that noise a little when i start out but it came out of it, and this would happen after the sled has been sitting for awhile and not riddin hard right before i shut it down. well if this is a simple fix someone let me know, if its a dealer problem then ill take it in since it has a warranty.
finally, i know nothing of clutching, can some one tell me what different types of clutch work does for different type of performance gains?
thanks, jason

I had read a prior post very much like this a few weeks ago. Everyone said that if you stop too quick with the brake that the clutch doesn't have time to snap back and will stay open. They suggest that you come to a stop but allow the sled to roll forward a few feet. This will let the secondary backshift and not stay open. Haven't had this happen to me but it seems to happen to some people. Hope this helps.

It takes turning for the clutch to close. You locked it hard when it was shifted out.

I found my clutch spring was warn out too. I had the same problem with my 02 viper and changed the clutch spring and its all better expect for the real hard stops.
