What's the scoop on anti-bottoming blocks for the ProActive?

I recall many 05 Vector owners were removing the anti-bottoming blocks on their Vectors to get rid of the kickback over bumps.

Now that we've got a few more seasons on the ProActive, what's the scoop on these blocks?

Does everyone agree they don't help or do some of you find they work. To make them work did you change the shock?

The reason for my question is my 07 RTX didn't come with them from the factory. Although we have no snow (I haven't ridden mine yet), I've been reading posts, reading magazine reviews and talking with guys riding their 07 RTX's and some are saying the RTX still bottoms out too easily (including the magazine reviews).

I was thinking it might be a good idea to add them to give better anti-bottoming control. With the better rear shock there might not be much kick back???

Worth picking up a pair of them?

The anti-bottoming stops work in my opinion. The severe kickback was really due to the poor quality rear damper Yamaha put on the 05 Vector. Once I replaced that shock with an Ohlin, the problem went away. The Nytro and 07 RTX have a really nice rear damper that is equal in quality and stiffenss as the Ohlin. So you have the proper rebound dampening to control the kickback. I would buy a set and try them... You'll probably be happy with them like I am.

I agree. The kickback went away when I added the rear Ohlins so I still use the stoppers. I have them in the most forward hole. (soft)

Sounds good. I'll pick up a pair.

You don't know about these stops yet you rip me on the other thread? TFF.

I have the stops from my old skid and would've sent them to you N/C, now you can go pull out some of your CDN and pay the ridiculous prices that Yami charges for some of their parts.

Part of the reason the vector had the stops was because of the bad shock. The Nytro and Apex RTX don't have the stops because the shock is better and won't bottom out as much. I put an Ohlins on the rear of my vector and it was better. I then took the stops off and was even much better. You gain more travel out of the suspension with the stops removed. Just my opinion.
