Then maybe you could explain why they DID? They're giving a totally different review now for the SAME SLED. And don't even BOTHER saying that a *MINOR* alteration like a cooshier back suspension will make that much of a difference - can you really believe that its so great just because some fat bit*h who has NEVER RIDDEN one says "Its so much softer under my big hairy fat as*". Did the 03/04 ride like a concrete block? Only if you didn't set it right. Does the weight difference make that much difference? Only if 2 extra gallons of gas in the tank can make such a huge difference. Last year everybody said how amazing the skid on the Warrior was, well its the same skid 7.5" longer and with a different shock.[/quote]
Hey LB, if you're happy with your sled, that's all that matters. The 05's have much better suspension. That's important to some guys. Deal with it.

Re: SKID
I was GONNA say that, but I'm still pretty new here...... 8)
STAIN said:If you think that a totally new skid is "minor alteration" then you are on crack. If proper set up is so important--and we all know it is--then a totally different set up HAS to be different. If it is better or worse is yet to be determined by the buying public.
LB, do you ever see the glass as half full and not half empty?

You people should not get so upset, I am NOT saying anything bad about the sled. Just saying that the magazines are in the business to make money, not to give useful information, therefore they are not reliable sources of unbiased information. Next year, the magazines could say that the monoshock is the worst skid ever - thats what happened with the Proaction. The first year out, it was the "best skid ever", then all of a sudden it was the worst, and for some reason, nobody remembers (in fact, they would all deny ever saying it) that it was once the best.
Proaction can handle the bumps as well as anything out there as long as you know what you're doing when you set it up. Problem is that normal people don't know squat about physics, therefore are unable to set it right since its NOT SIMPLE. Why do you think that the 05 has one main adjuster? Because its idiot-proof.

Talked to a couple of dealers that rode them last spring on a Yami demo. They all said that the suspension worked great, awsome ride, good transfer etc. etc etc. we will all soon find out. 6 or 7 more weeks, you can tell everyone here needs some snow on. Those Arctic Cat commercials in the mags say it all. Maybe Suisse can post some more picturs to help us out. Maybe we can start a new section on this forum to help each other out .
ok I will start
Hello my name is sleadheadgeorge......and I am a Snowmobileoholic.........Its been 6 months since my last ride and I know we are almost there but I need help to make it through the next couple of months.

Who's upset, it was sounding like you were 8) Let's be honest, any magazine or serious rider has been complaining about Yamaha suspension for several years now. I don't know anyone or any magazine who has been saying the pro action was the best skid ever. In fact, it's been pretty universally panned. I don't know where you ride, but say, if you rode Tug Hill NY on a Saturday afternoon, you'd be working harder than someone riding a Polaris, SkiDoo or Arctic Cat. That's a sad but real fact. Plenty of people know what they're doing with setup, but after a while, many of us have no interest in revalving shocks or messing with setups non stop. The clicker adjustment is a long overdue feature that every sled should have. You can skin your knuckles and crow about your knowledge of physics. The rest of us idiots will be reaching down to our left and fine tuning our ride. :ORC

I would have to partaly agree with LB!!! The artical seem very over the top.. I subscribe to both AMSNOW and SNOW TECH and like JTSRX said SNOW TECH IS THE BEST MAG OUT!!
In both new issues of the above mags they never claimed it was a MOGAL MASHER or anything like that but did say it rode well and close to that of the M-10! in some ways better! But they also said, in the nasty trials that the weight became obvious compared to the lightweight sleds and wore out the rider faster!
I dont know about the standard 04' rx-1 but i know one thing, My 04' warrior does ride every bit as good as my buddys old 02' polaris xcsp 600 with the m-10! AND THATS NO B.S.!! the clicker rear shock and longer skid makes all the difference!
WHY DONT WE JUST ALL CALM DOWN AND WAIT FOR SOME ACTUAL RIDERS TO RESPOND!!
Brian.

Actually I really Like SNOWEST & I have enjoyed Several
As Magazines go I really Like SNOWEST & I have enjoyed Several Sled Mags propoganda or not.
Sled magazines Do have a Real role in our industry they keep us Hyped on the sport they inform us of Land use issues & they give us incite paid our not on what is available out there.
Many mags give great ideas on Where to Ride
I Like my Free Mags & I buy the odd issue (Mostly Snowest) at the news stand as well.
We still could however still use a Killer Good Mag Like Powder or Surfer with More Pics Less Adverts

Its nice to hear good and bad points from magazines on the products featured. What it really boils down to is whether I like it or not.
