First time removing and reinstalling the skid in this sled. I'm trying to get the skid back in, and i'm struggling. I have installed the front bolts, and can't get the rear skid bolts to align at all. I've tried using ratchet straps to keep the rear arm forward, and using another ratchet strap to try and compress the shock, but have not been successful.
I use an overhead hoist to lowwer the chassis on the skid, not putting the sleds on their side....
Am I supposed to bolt the rear bolts first, then the front to make this thing align back up?
What's the trick?
It defeated me tonight, but hoping to have a plan for tomorrow.
Thanks all.

Remove the limit strap or one transfer rod bolt.

Alright, I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Is it going to be difficult to get that reconnected after the skid bolts are in place? Thanks folks.

No you will be able to bolt them right up once its in. I also found using a lever like a wooden broom stick can help line the rear swing arm holes lined up. It can be a real struggle with just one person. With 2 people, even if its your wife, its so much easier. Once you've done it, seen it go together, you won't need her next time.

Got her, that was tons easier. Now to the shock wire routing. I took a picture but it's proving to not be good enough now. My main concern does the wire come over the top of the front arm, or from underneath? Did I see that there was a sb on this? Thanks

Here is a link to a thread with the wire routing diagram.

once you have the skid in the track, tip the sled on its side. it is very easy to move skid to line up the bolt holes. do 1 side at a time, catch all bolts put sled back on track and tighten them down. you will be surprised how easy

tipping on its side is the way I have always done it with other sleds as it is easier but use caution with a Yamaha as it will sometimes bend the tunnel, been there done that.
