I’m sure there are dozens of threads explaining how to install this skid but I’m hoping someone can give me some advice on this specific problem. This is the first time Ive ever attempted to install any snowmobile skid and it’s going alright so far.
I got the front two bolts in by the help of some ratchet straps pulling it backwards and a car jack inching it up into place. I have the transfer rod unbolted at the back. Now for some reason I seem to be having a problem lining the back two bolts up.
I attached two photos showing what I’m working with as far as how the sled is being held up and which way the suspension needs to come to line the holes up. Thanks in advance for any advice

Having trouble with the photos. I’ve got the sled held up with a sled jack and it is about three inches off the ground. The suspension needs to come ahead about half an inch to line up and it seems like I will need to compress the spring to line it up.

So my mono skid has a air shock and I always air it down completely to install making it easier to compress. Can you take all the preload off the spring to make it easier to compress

Take one of the transfer rod bolts out and you will be easily be able to line up the rear mount bolts. Then raise or lower rear of bumper accordingly to line up the transfer rod bolt you took out.

You probably have it done by now but the Front are the hardest to do.. so your good now.. do what hibshman says'.. I use a hoist from the ceiling to raise or lower the sled easy like to line up the rear bolts..then install the upper wheels..
Also make sure the rear axle is loosened up and moved way ahead to allow the skid to move about. I always found it hard to install that skid.. I'd try to do it like the last time I did and could never repeat it so it was a constant learning curve.. being by myself with lot's of arthritus it wasn't fun. Now with this single shot xtx in my vector I hope this one will be easier. I can't get info on this one ..not many out there.

I bought a Hygear Single Shot Coilover shock and need to install it. I'm told I can do it without taking the skid out. I sincerely hope so as I don't want to deal with that right now.

I used a ratchet strap to pull mine back to line up the rear bolt holes... one side at a time.
