Whats the worse thing that can happend?


That way you aren't trying to pull it with weight on it. You can do it on the ground, it is just easier on things to lift it up. You can wedge it up on top of a snow bank witht he rear half of the track off of the ground and do it too. Seen that done before. Maxdlx

ps don't forget to first loosen , and lastly tighten the rear axel nut.
 
Just cut a 2x4 or a log to the right length, prop the rear bumper on it and tighten the track to the owner's manual specs.

I usually do mine when they are waist level in the back of the truck - so I just loosen the axle bolt and crank the adjuster nuts then re-tighten the axle.
 
My friend has no rope or anything,I am just going to rie the sled the way it is then tighten it up in the summer.

Take the time to tighten it! You`ll regret it when your studs tear up your tunnel or your heat exchanger. You can expect a track to stretch and need to be tightened several times from new.
