What's under the tool box?

So I popped off the tool kit on my 06' Vector, and noticed what looked to be a 2 place cup holder underneath the actual tool kit once I took it out?

What is this compartment for?
Is it part of the intake ducting so something?

Just looked kind odd, and I wasn't sure what it was for?

Any ideas?

Just a small storage area. I use it for a tow rope, in case those non-yammi sleds break down. I also have my owners manual under there in zip-lock freezer bag.

X2,

I carry jumper cables, spare set of spark plugs, owners manual, zip ties and more in there. G.B.

? what gauge jumper cables are guys carrying? With no pull start i think that is a must buy before i head out.

O' Riellys and other places sell a small diameter jumper cable set for motorcycle and ATV's. That is what I bought. I havent had to use them yet so cant say how well they work but they look just like the Yamaha ones for half the cost. G.B.

10 guage. Here are the jumper cables I bought from O' Riellys. G.B.
