I'm trying to set up some drivers so I can run the 3" pitch apex 162 track and I'm confused why the factory has intor drivers and extro drivers, is intro drivers fitting on lugs on the inside of that are in a different spot compared to a normal track, and the extro part fits through all the windows?
Thanks

you are correct, but I wouldnt bother with the stock Yammie drivers, as every set I have seen were not timed correctly. Get Wahl or Avid (best) and do it one time.

So the track is different and say a challenger from a artic cat wouldn't work even though its the same pitch? Is this because its 16" wide on the apex?
Out of time, not following that?

any 3" pitch track will work with 3" pitch drivers, but there are a few tracks that do not like the Avid drivers unless the nubs that sit on the outside of the hyfax are removed. Out of time is the relation to the extrovert driver not matching up to the introvert part of the driver under load. The yamaha drivers I have seen drive off the introvert part untill they skid, then the extrovert picks up from there. This causes vibration, spun drivers and possibly axle breakage.

I see thank you I'm clear on the out of time.
Still confused on the intro part it only drives with the outside of each intro driver? I like the doo extros I have where the extro is in the middle and the intros are on each side, Yamaha is so complex because they cant copy the patent or something?
Thanks for the help

X2 on the confusion. The layout is different than the typical extro's and I don't see how 1/2 of the intro driver would be doing anything.
well it is more rotating mass which does reduce delivered hp. Hmmm

driver problems
The Avid drivers have issues with the nubs on the tracks and then I read about the Wahl drivers having issues...vibrating or being out of round...? Are the Wahl drivers still having problems or has this been fixed?

All drivers can and will be more ore less wobbling after install.
Most people never check them and in most cases it is within allowable limits.
Anytime I do drivers especially on fast sleds turbos etc I will put them on the laith and straighten them out.
It usually does not take much but you will notice a very smooth running track.
By the way even the Avids are a bit out after install -- pressing plastic onto steel does that.
cheers...............

great idea
Thanks for your input, I will put mine on a lathe when I do them....this should resolve any potential issues.
