Just checked mine, the two inner are shot and the rear bogie is going. 157 miles 144 studs up the middle. Very poor quality.

I have an Attak. After 580 miles both of my wheels are chewed up. I do not run studs either. Does Yamaha have a fix for this?
Hey snowattaker wow thats some milage already, how is the milage been around 14 mpg or better, and which wheels are having trouble,is it the two rear inside bottom on there crosshaft that are giving problems,or are there more, like two upper that guide track, and are they just loosing rubber O.D. or bearing shot???? :bling

It's the two lower inside wheels. All the rubber is chewed off. They all look like retreads. It looks as though the set so close to the suspension in front of them, they have iced up and just burnt off on hte track. I just spent 4 days up in the U.P. and when I got back we had snow here. Rode all Afternoon Saturday. So did not get my sled thawed out until today to see how everthing wore. I havent checked the mileage yet. However the guys I was riding with up north had 800 gades and a rev and we were adding the same amount between fill ups.

mine blew at 150 miles - no picks -
also way too soft - bottoms on small mogels - i weigh 195 #. no way to adjust dampining - just rebound - 1st there too stiff - now too soft - i dont get it.

those bogie wheels are junk I am replacing all the wheels in my suspension, using factory yamaha wheels way better quality and my dealer is paying for most ,I am only out the cost of the big idlers in the rear. the stock bogies are very cheap theres a seam that runs down the middle where the rubber meets, thats where they start falling apart the yamaha factory ones are heavier and one piece of molded rubber not two, if yours have not shredded yet they will. even the plastic body of the stock ones are cheap. my dealer rocks. looks like yamaha used a new supplier for there stock bogies, after this year they better go back to the old supplier.

You boys been runnin to hot behind the BIG C hell ti wheels couldnt even hang with that pace. :exc:

What you do about the wheels Waldo , Did mark hook you up or did you buy some aluminum wheels.

The same thing happen to me after only 50 miles. Yahama replace them with 100% plastic wheel model. Apparently the plastic wheel are from last year. Will see if they last!

You can expect some more track noise or howl with these wheels! Hand warmers now the wheels are failing and the season has just started.

Attention all users:

I have forwarded this information to Yamaha and they are very concerned. They are in need of wheels and VIN numbers in order to track down any possible supplier problem that is causing some of these wheel issues. It sounds like they are stocking up on the wheels and will be able to replace wheels quickly, please see your dealer to report the problem.

Also the GT spring is not a mistake. This spring according to my setup is appropriate for a 200 lbs rider. This is not a mistake on Yamahas part. If you want a heavier spring based on your weight and riding style you will need to purchase one at a very fair price.

Thanks
Tom
