Alright so I bought a 2011 apex xtx to replace my attak gt (7000 miles of good times). I took it down the frozen dirt road less then half a mile and hyfax was smelling mighty fine. I bought some excell wheels on here to swap out the stock wheels.

I'm also looking at adding the excell kit as well but swear that the photo for the inside wheels on their website looks like the extra wheels are up by the front shock.

Does anyone have a photo of their xtx with all the extra wheels? I ride way out to nowhere and can't be carrying an extra set of hyfax with me.

The complete kit from excell does not work on the '11 XTX so I was told from them. The location of the wheels changed from '11 to '12-current. I bought just the wheels (6) and DuPont hyfax. I also run cable scratchers that I mounted on the skis. I only have about 750 miles on this set-up, but there is NO wear at all. I burned up the stock hyfax within 500 or so miles. Check your track tension too...I run mine loose with about 1.5 inch of sag when the sled is on the stand.

I lifted the sled the other day and it seems like they set those tracks ridiculously tight from the shop. I'm going to loosen it up some and had already planned in changing the wheels. Couldn't you theoretically add a set of wheels towards the back if you replaced the stock metal brace bar there? Also in theory obviously you could drill a hole anywhere and mount them but at the risk if weakening your rail. The hyfax wear in this stock setup is way worse then any other sled I've owned.
