I upgraded last year, couldn’t ignore the cheap Vipers last spring. Honestly, the Phazer does well in the hime of tight twisty trails and 50mph speed limits, Minnesota. I’ve been hitting the UP 2-3 times a winter lately and the Phazer just didn’t cut it out in the land of wide fast trails, basically duct tape the throttle to the bars and attempt to keep up with my buddies on 800’s. The Viper keeps up just fine, and the chassis handles far better on trail than the Phazer and doesn’t require nearly as much “active riding” to negotiate a corner at speed. Off trail is a different story, the Phazer is SO much easier to throw around, despite only being 10-15# lighter. But with only 80hp you don’t have the grunt to get the front in the air and catwalk up hills or do power turns, just kinda grunts it’s way around with torque. I needed the Viper for speedy trails and 300+ mile days, so I upgraded..... and kept the Phazer for a backup/local trail sled.
