i mounted mine in down pipe after turbo housing but i think i mounted it too close to the turbo. mine is only about maybe 3 inches away from the outlet on the back of the turbo. the reason i mounted it there is that there was the best room for it to clear everything there. i do think that if it is running for a long time at partial throttle it super heats the sensor and starts to get false lean readings.
what do you guys think?
what is the theoretical best distance from the turbo for it to be mounted? and with mine being there would it read a little bit leaner or a little bit richer?

Actually it should be fine there and it should not affect the readings at all.
Given it is a good quality sensor.
Mine is here.

I mounted mine in the tail pipe and I think it may be too close to the natural air. My readings seem to be a little jumpy. I may try the innovate gauge and see if that reads the same as the NGK.

If yours is an Auto Meter it is a narrow band and that is your problem get a good one like I use http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/xcar ... 252&page=1

Get the innovate but buy it from dynotune, much better price. My indications now are that my narrow band may have been giving me false impressions.... still need to do more tuning.

With price comes service, I sell Innovate at there price but answer all your tech questions.
O2 sensor
have MCX rear
Where is the best place to mount the wide band sensor.
Before or after turbo????
Thinking after but will it make a difference in readings?
and where is the safe zone for mixture 12 - 12.5?

I had to put mine before the turbo on the Bender, because the pipe is too short afterwards.
If its too close to the end of the pipe you will get a false lean reading.
Try this:

For my Stage 1 SC, I put the sensor in the front of the exhaust canister. I cut a hole in the heat shield over it and ran the wires right along side the tail light wires. I have been told this is too close to the outlet of the exhaust but I figured it would give me a more accurate reading on the throttle than if it was in just one pipe on my Whiteknuckle exhaust.
