I read some interesting reviews on motorcycle and oil forums....believe it or not...walmart synthetic "st" oil is api rated and is made from a leading manufacturer and is supposedly good...their filters are made by champion and are decent as well...

Walmart oil filters
After cutting many filters apart. Walmart ST filters are at least twice the filter that Fran is. They are all I use in my cars and trucks.

After recommendations of members on my Diesel site I have started using the Wally world filters on my truck. I have also read that their filters are made by a top manufacturer as well as their oil, and that it is some very good stuff. What would the filter be for my Attak in the Super Tech (Wally World ) brand? Gene.

Heck, even if you have to dump $7 a quart for Mobil 1 you're looking at riding all year for $31 on oil and a filter. Seems reasonable to me. Mobil 1 is the route I took and sprung for the Yamaha OEM filter ($7 and some change, dealer cost). Beats the tar out of buying gallon after gallon of 2 stroke oil!

i put in the amsoil 0w40 in my sled. the filter has been changed a bunch of times by previos owner so i am going to leave it for a year. the manual says 12000 miles and the sleds has 4 changes in 3000 miles. i think she is good. plus amsoil can be bought at any canadian tire or peavy mart in canada. for about 9.00 for the 4 stroke sle, bike oil
