Does anyone know if Yamaha sells an oil filter wrench for the RX-1 or Apex filters. Does anyone know the part number and where I can get one.

If you can't spin the filter by hand tighten a large hose clamp around it leaving the clamp screw exposed. Tap the screw gently with a long screw driver and hammer counter-clockwise to loosen it. Then spin it the rest of the way off by hand.

Great idea!!! I never would have thought of that.

Yamaha Part # YU-38411 will fit rx 1 and apex, vector filter is different size.

Push a screwdriver through the middle of the filter and turn. Works great, just a little messy.

save your money, channel lock pliers work great.

I use the channel lock to loosen the filter and only go hand tight for putting one on. Have not had a problem ever.
