I just ordered 2 sets of marginal snow wheels for my Apex GT from Port Yamaha. Their prices are 1/2 what I pay here in Canada for them. Where is the best places to mount them on the skid. Pics would be great.

Mount one set just behind rubber stopper in front of
front set of idlers ! This takes care of wear at curve
in the slide rail ! Second set may not be needed.

1 set up by the tips and the second between the rear wheels and the middle wheels.
There are pics on Fix powersports webpage as well.

Aren't they supposed to go behind the first set of rubbers just in front of the rear axel? Putting them up there like "raped ape" doesn't make any sense to me, there 3 sets of wheels in a row. Look how much slider on the track without outside wheels there is.

Install them where most of the wear in the sliders is happening. If you don't have wear problems, don't install them.

Put some up front behind the blocks. The instuction from Fix Powersports stated to install the rears 8" in front of the rear wheels. There were already some slots about 5-6" in front of the rears so I used those instead of drilling more holes. It looked like the best place to put them as that is where I had the most wear in my slides.

On the MONO skid, you should have bought the kits from FIX powersports...they make the smallest version which can be mounted in the two highest wear points between the rails....their directions tell you exactly where to install....
here is where the two HIGHEST wear points are on the MONO skid....pic shows FIX mid and front wheel kits.
after our trip to North Bay,where the snow was NIL and icy hard, and lake nippising going across 30+miles of ICE(no snow on lake)....my sliders look fine, unbelievable but this setup plain kicks butt.
