I'm surprised that there's not more excitement about the 2010 Yamaha's. Is it the economy or is everyone looking for something different from Yamaha? I'd like to turn my 2005 Rage into a 2010 Vector GT LTX.

I'll throw a few comments out there.....

Me, myself would be going "WOW COOL" is Yamaha would've come out with a new Vector like chassis that dropped 50-100 lbs. Then, as I've said in other forums, you very likely could have the best groomed trail touring sled of all time.

As it is now, going FI really doesn't do anything for me because I have had no issues at all with my carb'd Vector. FI is adding complexity and to some degree, price. 6 more HP and 3% more fuel economy....woopy doo....means little or nothing to me. I'm a touring, big miles kind of rider.

Having the gage tell me when I need and oil change? That to me was almost a laughable addition. Give me a gage that tell me water and oil temp...that's worth money to me.

Colors/graphics = yawn! BNG's! I'm not a Cat fan but in some cases, I really like how they look!

Lastly.....PRICE. You can get an 09 Vector ER for $7000 OTD. Let's say the dealer OTD price for a 2010 Vector GT is $9000....is the 2010 worth $2000 more than an '09? I know it has FI, the warranty and clickers....but I myself wouldn't pay the difference. I don't see the value.

I've been honest in saying I really like the Doo XP GSX if I could get it with the 600SDI. BUT....I'm coming back full circle to a new Vector for next year because the dang thing just keeps going and going!!!!!

;)!

Excitement might look something like this:

Vector 120 Carb: the price-point sled
Vector 120 EFI: mid-level Vector performance
Vector 130 EFI: ultimate trail sled with the full 138hp Nytro engine

Restyle the plastics to do away with the long nose (front end shorter) and rework the front suspension for better handling...yup that to me would be pretty exciting...and if they could drop a few lbs it would just be icing on the cake!
