I got a buddy's dad looking at getting a 4 stroke... hes been looking at a few yammies..
He wants comfort but lots of power and speed. also would need to be reliable too ofcourse...
What would best suit him?
hes also looking for used... not new ones...
and doesnt NEED to be a yammie... so if you got any other ideas on what would be good hes open to other makes... not really a brand loyal guy nor does he bash or dislike other companies much...that I know of
Thanks

a vector should fit the bill, good for trail riding, 120+ hp, good on fuel, reliable as a sled can be. for more hp the apex is the sled. for either sled consider the 136 track length as they offer a better ride and off trail capabilities. (rage or attak).

I'm going to have to agree with grader on this one...An Attak or Apex LTX would definitely be the way to go. 150HP, 136 inch long-track comfort and the most reliable engine in the industry!

How much power does he really need? The general consensus on here is that the Fuel Injected Vectors (2010+) are the best trail sleds if you aren't a lake racer (Apex) or huge bump/ditch guy (FX nytro)
That said, it is very hard to find a Fuel injected Vector for less than $7K. Apexes and Attaks can easily be had for $5000-$5500

Well...
3/4 of the time hes bombing up and down the lake in winter.
does trail ride but mostly does high speed tours on the lake at his cottage.
so an apex would be more suiting.
How is the fuel milage on those apexs?
hes coming from a skidoo GSX 800

Yup, Apex is in order for him since he's coming off a GSX 800.
Try searching the forums here, lots of posts on fuel mileage and any other question that you may have...a lot quicker too.

Apex for sure if he wants bigend power.
I own a '10 fuel injected Vector & an Apex. They are equal up to about 80 MPH, then the Apex walks away. Fuel economy is excellent on the Vector though, 18-20 MPG.
12-15 MPG with the Apex depending on conditions & throttle.
