Now that the Apex is gone from the lineup which one has been the best for you?
Delta II, Delta III, Mono, Single Shot or Slingshot?
The best out of the box and which ones have you made the best and what did you do to make it the best Apex you have driven.
I am still rocking my 07 Attak. With mtn skis and Snowtrackers held up with GYTRs up front and revalved mono shocked wrapped in a BoP multi rate spring. I have found that this combo is a better ride than a stock '12 SE and so has my buddy that owns the SE. Not to say that the SE does not have a smooth plush ride but not having the ability to give consistent ride comfort in varying trails conditions is it's downfall.
The best Apex I have ridden and was only a very short rip across was a lake was a 450hp turbo charge Delta III monster.
Didn't care about any of the ergos or the suspension as the arm pulling fun factor was off the waaaaaay off the charts.

I may be influenced by nostalgic good memories but my 2006 GT mono shock was the plushest, Railing and arm stretching smile producing ride I’ve had.
My 13XTX has the pull but NOT the plush.

The best are the ones that I own...LOL all of them..he he
But the over all best, out of the box was a 2011 Apex Standard 129 EPS.. with a set of Curve Skis wand Slim Jim Duallys, still running it to this day with 18000 miles.

My brother in law had an 06 GT... it was awful on any thing more than small moguls and stutters. Full Ohlins Shocks with PDS (bottom out secondary piston stuff), 2.8 kg springs up front, a 5.5 kg titanium spring in the rear, a 13mm sway bar, and a predator track ... it f@$&ing gobbled up everything all day long. Miss that sled more than any other.

2011 xtx with the ck skid. took me a bit to get it how i wanted it as the ty demo ride in 2010 was what made me fall in love with the sled. rode it stock for most of the 1st season before i started tuning the suspension on mine to match the demo sled. still do not know why they put the heavy springs on the rear as the demo did not have them. it is set so well now that care_bear says it is her sled and i need to get the 16 to ride as well. still running strong with 17000 mi and just put a new track and primary on it for the upcoming season.

- Which one? I have 6
The best Apex I had for riding, and still have in the stable, is the 2012 XTX. Put a set of Nytro mountain skis on it with snowtrackers. This gave it awesome steering and handling. Just point and go. 13mm sway bar. GYTR adjustable front shocks. RX 1 front skid shock(this lowered it 3/4 inch) for lower COG. Wide front end kit. Revalved rear skid shock. Awesome Cruiser, with the handing of a short track on tight trails. Stock engine and slight tweaks to the clutching for my riding style. Suspension was great in the stutters, but it still lacked in quality compared to other OEM skids. My wife rides it now since I retired it from long range cruises. She doesn't want a newer one cause of the power steering. Can't blame her.

My 06 rtx, with hygear dual spring reinforced mono, gytr shocks, 13mm swaybar, wrp tall seat, curve skis with slim jims, ripsaw2 track, etc..it will never like g outs, but on everything else, it's still a fun sled and out handles my sidewinder...handles very flat and steers easy, fun to powerslide corners.

I have seen guys talk about that swaybar upgrade for years. What do you gain? Flatter cornering? Less body roll I would assume?

Its a bigger diameter and allows less body roll.

When you snap one, it will be evident! I've broken 3 13mm bars and had to install the stock one to keep riding until another arrived. The sleds worked nice in a straight line, especially on bumps, but handling was horrible with no bar.I have seen guys talk about that swaybar upgrade for years. What do you gain? Flatter cornering? (2 on the rx1's, and one on the apex. Much flatter handling with the bigger bar. )
IMO
A 2010 Apex LTX 136”track with an MPI stage 2 super charger, PC5 fuel controller, PC5 ignition module, Autotune, and a Pod 300 for tuning is about as good as a it gets for an Apex trail missile. I put a similar package together on an older Apex we regularly referred to as “The Beast”...Trouble is... 2010s are not common and MPI is not around anymore... oh well there is always a tuned Winder to fill the void

My 2006 GT with 20,000 miles still runs like the day I bought it. Much better after the WIDE front end kit, lowered front end with 13mm bar and HyGear revalved dual spring. Sure it needs exhaust gaskets every so often but with 4 APEX's in my garage I am getting good at it. NOOOO not all mine. My buddy has a 2008 ATTACK another awesome sled.
I just finished removing the skid and changed all the bushings, also did the front end as well. Its ready for another season.

I can't help on out of the box, but best sled I have had was the 07 apex mtn impulse race turbo, converted to a crossover trail killer. To me moving the weight of the gas under you instead of in front of you changes the machine and makes them feel 100lbs lighter. That was by FAR the most fun I have had on a sled. The ZX2 rear suspension which is no longer available was on of the main reasons it was a blast. I couldn't kill the sled or the skid in any terrain. Fast isn't the word, and handling was amazing, the rougher the trail the better! I hate rough trails but not with that beast. It will always be my favorite!
