Which Carbide is better on the Nytro?

I'm looking at replacing my carbides on a 2008 FX Nytro RTX. I'm looking at woody's carbides. My options are to go with just the normal runner, slim jim doolies, or the play doolie runners. I've been told that the slim jims are the way to go. I do mostly trail riding so is it worth the extra couple bucks to go with the slim jims over the other two? Any other options?

I have never tried either of the ones you have on there, when I bought my nytro it had Cobra Head carbides on it. they work really well but it was really hard to turn and no i did not have all the weight on skis. but I have also heard that the Stud Boy Deuce runners are really well also and those r the ones i will be trying this season

Slim Jim Doolies are the best I've ever ran. Worth every penny

I like the Duallies but I've heard the Cobraheads are the way to go.

If you want to push in the corners, go with the dual runners. I tried 6" snow studs double downs for about 30 miles and had to take them off. It felt like I was going to get pushed into the trees on every corner, and I have the sled set up too. They did eliminate darting but there was zero bit for turning. But some guys like them a lot, I guess they just weren't for me and the way I ride. I just got some plain ole 6" round bar roetin bars at the yamaha dealer and they worked awesome. And they were cheap. I had the sharper bars on before that, but the little piece of carbide on the tip of the wear bar caught on just about everything(rail road tracks!) and I felt like I was going to bend the crap out of my sub frame. I didn't not like that at all. Oh yeah, flip your rubber and shim your skis too, if I remember to either 1/8 or 1/4 shim if you haven't done that yet. But if you still want dual runners, I still have my double downs for sale if your interested. The paint is still on the bottom of runners, like I said only 30 miles. I can send pictures if you would like.

I have the 6 inch slim jim doolies and they work really well. The first time I put them on I instantly loved them. Zero darting and awesome bite, even when crossing blacktop. I have quite a few miles on them and I've noticed a little pushing but that's only when its warms and slushy. They do make a huge difference on the stock skis though.

the carbide that is best on the nytro is anything that doesn't fit a yamaha ski

regular duelies worked best. slim jims were nice for the 100 miles or so they lasted.they wont take any abuse compared to the standerd ones.

Stud Boy deuce bars, loved them on my Nytro, but I would buy the 9" as the duel carbide takes away some of the bite that a single gives you, I ran 9" shaper bars up till then and thought it had a little less bite but the trade off was well worth it. ZERO DARTING and much better steering effort.

Also setup is key, you may have to play around with ski pressure with a dually carbide.

Just a little late ha! I just order 6" stud boy deuce bars. The price was right so I purchased them. Hope the handling is still good!

I have the 6inch sharper bars on my C&A XTX's and it turns on cement LOL!

Bergstrom triple points. They will last about 5000 miles. The best carbides I have used bar none.
