I have everything apart for a track swap on my '07 Attak and figured I regrease all the bearings (chaincase/drive shaft/speedo, and idler bearings), as preventative maintenace.

Which grease is recommended when doing this? Can I use the standard Yamaha cold weather snowmobile grease (part# ACC-SMBGR-EA-SE)? or should I be using a grease specifically for repacking bearings? Thanks.

Any quality low-temp synthetic grease should be fine. I've been using white lithium grease on all my sleds and have never had a problem. I got hooked on it after seeing my job use it on conveyor belt bearings for years outside running 24/7. Best thing going for cold weather IMO.

I used white lithium grease for years before switching over to Amsoil low-temp synthetic grease. The Amsoil grease seems to be less prone to water ingestion from my observations. I dunno, maybe it is all the same, but I swear there is less water coming out of my supsension shafts since I switched to the amsoil lube.

I too use the Amsoil waterproof synthetic grease on all my bearings with 9400 miles on the sled (04 Warrior) going on its fifth season of use. A real testimony is that I use it on the jackshaft and driveshaft bearings and they are both original equipment!

just make sure it is low temp and water resistant.synthetics are best
