What size track does that one come with? Thought I seen it was a 1.6 or something like that? If that's the case it would prolly have the same deep snow capabilities as the 137 w/ 1.25 track. The 137 is only 4 extra inches of track on the ground and if I remember right that sled came with the evol front shocks which would be a great improvement over the ltx or xtx with just the standard floats

The White/Yamaha Blue version of the SRViper R-TX LE uses the aggressive Camoplast® SNO X™ track, measuring 15 by 129 inches, with 1.7-inch lugs. The track utilizes an extra hard rubber compound to allow maximum traction for holeshots and corner exiting. The Snowcross track is the choice of the pros, and now it’s available right off the showroom floor. The Yamaha Blue/Orange model sports the aggressive 15 x 129 x 1.25" Rip Saw II track.
1.7 is awfully deep lug for a trail ride. I'm sure it's plenty noisy too.

One thing I can say it that if you get out in the deep snow you have to work pretty hard to really pull the sled around and get the front end to just loft. The sled does good in the deep snow in a straight line but it's not much of a powder carving sled because of how the chassis and suspension is setup. The ltx models were designed for trail riding and to stay flat and planted. When u try to pull a ski and carve the sled almost wants to work against you to stay flat. Completely different than what my apex or nytro used to be like in the aspect that you could spin those on a dime. The 137" model would be great in theory for what you want but I feel you will be more satisfied with the xtx if 50% of your riding is off trail. The uncoupled rear suspension on the 141 will allow you to pull the front end up more easily and hold it there which is the key to off trail riding. The 137 I have a feeling will fight you all day riding off trail
Good post. I completely agree with it all. I ride an uncoupled 141 and the coupled 137 in this chassis. The 141 is without question better off trail than the 137. It transfers and works much better off trail and you can pull the straps up for handling on the trails. The 137 is better on the trail but the 141 isn't bad. You get a little more push especially with the 1.6 cobra and more ski lift but some tweaking makes it easily manageable. It all depends on if you want a sled that performs better off trail or on trail. I do more on trail with both by far and enjoy them both on the trail...but If I did 50/50, I would pick the xtx without question.

I really just need to figure out if this is going to be my exploring sled and keep my Nytro for the trails, or if I'm going to unload the viper I should stay with the ltx ... I've got some thinking to do my rep kind of scared me by telling me the 141 would ride like crap on the trails.... thanks for all your input.

The question is how much snow do you have to deal with. Not that long ago a 136 x 1.25 was a mountain sled. In your part of the world I would think you have to deal thawing and freezing, icy conditions and you have to stud. Recommendation is still LTX.

If you trail ride a Nytro now , I wouldn't worry about the 141 on the trails. You will probably come away saying it handles better than the Nytro. My wife was a lot quicker through the trails on my 141 than her 121 Vector or any other sled she had ridden or owned.

I ride pretty far north I ride out of Pittsburg, New Hampshire. It's not uncommon to be dealing with feet of snow... It's also not uncommon to ride groomed trails, currently we have about 3 feet and 5-6 in the hills where I ride.

I have a LTX SE with a 1.6 lug track and it's awesome in the trails, but have the lugs to go off trail as well! I don't really think I'm giving up to much to the XTX while off trail, besides climbing up on top of the snow. But on trail I am way better. Unless you totally change the set up on a XTX for trail riding, then the XTX is ok, but then if set up for the trail to even come close to the LTX you will sacrifice off trail riding. Where as the LTX can do both really good. With no compromise. I suppose it's a little different with the turbo too. As I have more power to get me out of those deep powder runs. But the LTX does not have the transfer so the XTX will get on top of the snow faster and ride wheelies which I can't on the trail with the LTX. But I can ride wheelies in the powder
