If you want a good ride in big bumps than do what Yamaha did with the Apex RTX in '07.... dump the Mono. The Pro-Active was a better skid for big bumps and it sucked compared to what the other three OEM's were equipping their bump sleds with.
The Mono is a comfort rear skid made for groomed trail cruising. It seems to do quite well in that role. I would not waste any money trying to make the Mono something it is not. If a guy wants a 144, than go aftermarket or adapt a skid out of another sled.
