I am looking at all three models. I live in Iowa, so ditch banging is most of my riding. With a couple of weeks in Wis and U.P.
Looking for people to give me real pros and cons on all 3 sleds and how the handle. Coming off a V-max 4 800 the weight will be the 1st thing that I noticed.

I have an 121 fx nytro. If I was to buy one again i would buy an xtx. The xtx has a higher top speed and more off trail capabilities. Which ever one you get you will have fun. I know i do everytime i hop on the beast.

If your going to be doing any amount of ditch banging then the choice is quite obvious to me. RTX SE. I tried a XTX the other day and to me it felt like driving a bus. A heavy bus. My SE ditch bangs pretty well for a 4 stroke but it aint even close to the ditch banger my Ski-Doo Rev is. Go with the RTX it will do all of the tasks you listed.

I can get an RTX SE for a couple $$ over an RTX. So the RTX is out

None of the above... wait till yamaha comes out with a better sled that you don't have to upgrade everything. I feel as though its coming in late February. Until then buy a beater.

if your going with the short track get the SE if its available. when i got mine (2009 - brand new but last years models) it was only $400 over the rtx, but i got the hand guards, new tunnel design, awesome shocks, and painted windsheild was worth it. i love my SE!

If you're gonna be ditch bangin then get the SE. I bought the SE because I knew I could stretch it to a 136 or 144 for less than a grand. But if I wanted to buy the better shocks and put them on the xtx it would cost more than twice that.

Worst case scenario yamaha doesn' t come out with our sled of dreams and you pick up a leftover next year for 3/4 the cost. No big loss but expect to put some extra money into the current nytro if you want to enjoy it. I dont think anyone would argue... slide wear and handling is a must, handwarmers and overheating is something you can learn to live with.

Over heating? Stop riding in low snow conditions,Hand warmers work if you ride it for awhile. I have 870 miles on my Hyfax and they are fine. Handling I agree with,You must get skis.Rayman5271 said:Worst case scenario yamaha doesn' t come out with our sled of dreams and you pick up a leftover next year for 3/4 the cost. i like the rtx more than the xtx. for ditch bangin get the 09 rtx se or a 2010 rtx or rtx se. that is because the running boards are not as wide on those models, u will not get stuck as much
After reading sooooooo much good and bad about the Nytro, I knew it would be an excellent machine in need of upgrades. So it was simple, purchased a plain jane FX and the savings will go into the add ons.
