I am looking to be an 09 left over. i do mostly groomed trail riding and some lake riding in upstate ny and looking at the XTX but not sure with the longer track if i will lose handling from the rtx? also whats the price range i should be looking at for both sleds? Which sled would i be happier with for my type of riding? thanks guys

If you do some lake racing, then you might want the xtx. From what I have read on ty here, the xtx has more top end. My rtx se only does like 100mph...not sure if the regular rtx is different or not. But it sounds like the xtx does over 110
I only need to go 100

My buds got an xtx and i have an rtx, both 09's. I like the stiffer suspension but His sled is awsome in the powder... Groomed trail riding around here you would need an rtx (harsh ride for some) but if I rode anywhere other than here I'd go with the xtx. plusher ride for sure.. The handling in my eyes is negligable between the two

The xtx has tipped up rails for the trail. I have rode 136 and 144 inch sleds and the handle better than a 121 imo. THe longer track bridges the gaps between bumps. You got the handling, more top end, better hook up, you got it made with the xtx. I paid 8000 for my 09 xtx. And if you have plans of a turbo the 144 will really be beneficial to you for the better traction

I've never heard anything bad about how the longer xtx handles. My rtx is stiff, but I like it that way for pounding through the moguls which is why I didn't buy the xtx...my rtx isn't the best in the deep snow tho. So I currently have all the stuff to stretch it to a 136 with the cobra track...hoping to find a happy medium.
If you aren't big into pounding down rough trails, I think you would be very happy with an xtx.

100% of my riding is old forge, NY. the trails are not exactly flat haha but they are not all that bad. will i be able to handle as good on an xtx as an rtx doing fast corners? all the trails are winding and mostly pretty bumpy. 1 dealer said he demo'd an xtx and was the nicest ride ever and that was actually in edinboro legends.(keystone kawi and yami if u heard of it?) another dealer said there are no 144in that handles as good as a 121in? thanks guys sorry for the long msgs

never heard of them. The xtx rides nicer than my sled but its just to soft for me for around here. Like I said I think the differance in handling between the two would be negligiable

I dont think you should be worrying about the cornering ability or the handling because that should be really close between the two of them. But how stiff of suspension do you want, and how much off trail riding you'll be doing...

here is brand new price at a dealer in Kaukauna, WI (920) 462-0775 ...just to give you something to compare used prices with. I was just looking around on craigslist, so no idea if that is the cheapest.
I saw used xtx's in the classifieds for about $7,200 or so.
2009 Yamaha FX Nytro----$7499
2009 Yamaha Nytro RTX- $7999
2009 Yamaha Nytro XTX-$8499
