My dad is thinking of getting a turbo for a 2012 xtx. After looking around there seems to be three manufactures, MPI, MC express, and Push turbo. My dad and I are new to turbos and were wondering the pros and cons to each. Also if there are any other add ons we should look at (ex. tuner skis)
PS. he is at a lower elevation of 1300ft and still wants to be able to run premium pump gas and have the ability to adjust boost to run lower grade fuels (some remote location we ride to only have regular)

2021 Sidewinder LTX SE - SOLD
My MCX 270 Nytro gets 90 miles out of my stock 7.4 gallon fuel cell and that is riding it fairly aggressive with stock gearing. I highly dough any supercharged sleds get that good gas mileage. Turbo is the way to go!

Wow wasnt expecting that! I ran out gas with 88miles on at stock XTX...... I'm guessing the 180MCX must be great on fuel

15 MPG to a Canadian gallon Saturday on my MCX 290 Turbo 2011 Apex. Only had it up to 100 mph a few times. Did not beat it all day long.
My stocker gets 14.5 to 15 So the Turbo is as good or better. Who would have thunk it?
Not much chance of hiding it.
Can't comment on the other 2 as I have not ridden them.
MPI Supercharger on low boost is awesome on the trails.
Most Turbos you can put a manual boost controller on.
Mine has the head shim and runs 91 Pump gas at full boost so I imagine I could run 87 if I had to at 8 lbs of boost.
BTW it does not make boost on my guage until over 7,000 rpm and is only 1 or 2 lbs at 7500 so should be no problem if you can only get 87 as long as you keep your thumb out of the throttle.

You have a problem if you are not making boost until 7,000rpm. Mine starts to build just above 3,000rpm, check your boost map...

Wow that's really good for 270. I got trail tank on mine and I get about 100 if I don't push it too hard.

I am very surprised that the fuel mileage actually increased. I was thinking the MCX offered from the dealer might be the best bet since we get to keep the warranty

But, I was also reading on the Push turbo site that their turbo doesn't void your warranty.

My push gets the same mpg as stock. Less than a buck diff than 800 etec.
My sled (really close to a push/mpi 180 kit) got with in .25 gallons of my wife Polaris rush 600. This was on the 250 miles we put on this weekend on the north shore.
I didnt think that was to bad considering I was hot rodding it around every corner.
I will say once I reach 100 miles on a tank I better be looking for gas quick. Could really use a trail tank.

F7straightliner what do you think of the push turbo thats was my next consideration since they claim 198hp on pump gas with the option of going to 225hp
