WHITE 2006 APEX MNT MCX 310 KIT UPGRADES

RX1M5 did this conversion to his RX1. He got an impulse header, rev fuel tank. Ran awesome still some #$%&* stole it. I know on CM sled, it was also a rev tank, mountain mod seat to fit a rev seat. The mcx header is different than impulse, but close. Im in the process of making my RX1 a midmount, get rid of the crappy left of center headers that bust!.
 

well now I will have to think about what to do....probably keep the Apex....do theymcx nytro style turbo job...or mid mount custom job.....aleast i have time ....lol

Shoot RX1M5 a pm and ask for some feedback. He now owns a Nytro MCX. I would have kept the apex ;)!
 
Hows this for math.......
Option 1 -------Sell the apex....would like 15gcan due to the new skid and track, but realitically 13-14g.....used nytro 6500, mcx 270 kit 6800, cr tunnel/steering/and odds - 3500, baker skid/rails/wheels/front shock 3200 - seat 650 plus my time 0 = 20650 - 13500 - 750(selling nytro suspension seat and other parts = 5000-6400 cost for the build.(wife might hurt me lol)

Option 2 - do the 19T upgrade and turbo move(nytro mcx style) perimeter cooling and tunnel extension 1000g ish

Option 3 - Mid mount project.....like TT said garret turbo 1500ish(guessing) - header( 1000g guessing) - rev tank and seat 800 - down pipe 500 - fab welding etc 500, neils fuel system 1500( guessing) = 6000ish - parts from my sled(turbo seat etc 1500ish ====4500

turbo is around 1200, header is alot more, 1800. I also got his downpipe, header hanger, oil drain setup, coolant lines, bolt kit, 90deg elbow for turbo inlet, air filter setup, etc. Came to 2200ish. Got a used rev seat for 50bucks. Got a rev boss seat for 200, brand new from yami dealer that was going to similar conversion. Was told that the xp tank fits the apex really well. I never seen a xp tank. Was @ a doo dealer the other day. Parts told me, 250 for a brand new tank. I never rode an impulse setup, but thinking that the newer style mcx would be the cheapest route. I have spoke with M5, he replaced his stolen 4cyl with the nytro turbo. He is going back to the 4cyl power. On the top end the 3cyl is lacking the 4cyl grunt. I know lots will say the nytro is so much better.

thanks.....I talked with a couple guys that said the new style mcx is quite a bit better......
 
Have a talk with Tbird. He did the upgrade from rear mount with 16t to the new style setup with a 19t turbo. You will get a very honest opinion from him;-)
 
Well started the project today....never ended up selling the sled....for what its worth i decide to keep it......Just currently removing the tunnel...found a used CR Racing 174 tunnel for a good price and sold mine so never ended up costing much....its a front mount tunnel, so i will have to cut out the center section, but i think will work better for moving the turbo up....there wont be a hole to cover in the rear....havent decided if i should get the turbo upgraded to a 19t.....also have a custom one of seat base from Murray at Mountain Mod ......

Good to see you are back in the garage - good choice keeping that apex:)))) it will lookmawesome with a cr-tunnel!

How are you healing up - will you be able to do some spring riding?
 
foot is doing good...just back to work part time....hope to have this built by end of april and ride then.......we have crazy amount of snow pack so be riding into june...getting the tunnel next week....
 
Well got my cr tunnel and it came with a bulkhead to...lol...i guess he didnt feel like drilling all the rivets.......

So tore it down and thinking since I have one side of my bulkhead with a crack from a rock...i might powder coat this bulkhead and move everything over....Anyone ever powder one?

Came with a new 174 extension....so just have to strip the front part and assemble and powder it....be like brand new.....

Fabbed a turbo bracket...i just couldn't justify over 200 for the cross shaft and steel turbo bracket...
