I'm looking at sleds and I'm skeptical about the Nytro. My last sled was a 2007 Apex RTX that handled great with the help of pilot skis and a heavier sway bar. I want a sled that I can do medium sized jumps with but also trail ride. The Nytro and the 1200 Doo seem like the only 4 stroke choices. My question is for ex Apex's owner. What did you have to do to your Nytro to get it to handle as good as your old Apex?

I have Rode a Few Apex's and this JRE XTX Nytro will easily out handel them on the trails and out boondocking in the powder :)

If you buy an XTX JRE has a kit for the front and rear suspension that sells for $399.00 Upgraded front shocks is a must also.

I have not run an apex but own a vector with arrows on it ( two 5" carbides on each ski). My nytro with split rails will crush it in the handling department pretty much all the time. It would take ideal snow condiitions for the vector to keep up on tight winding trails. We rode 150k last Wednesday, a buddy of mine drove the vector, I could leave the vector in the dust at any point. You just can't throw that sled into a corner like a nytro.

I have a 09 gt with curves on it. Handles great the harder you go into a turn the better. Also have a 2010 rtx se will be putting a set of curves on soon. The key to a nytro is little ajustments at a time .Once you get it setup they are all fun .

Just curious. I have a friend with a 09 fx nytro gt sam exact thing as mine. We both weight 175-180. We have different mods but we both have the same problem, cornering. With out straights just zig zagging and bumps my phazer rtx easily out handles them. I run grippers and my friend runs the aggressive c&a pro trail skis. We both cant keep my inside ski planted though.

I'm diggin the XTX's and they can be had used for pretty good prices!

I had an '07 Attak before my Nytro. The Attak was great trail sled. Had Pioneer redo the rear shock and had USI skis on the sled.
Handled great.

When I first got may Nytro I had reservations on the sled's handling. Sled pushed in the corners and was tipsy, and would
be hard to keep the ski's on the ground.

I installed Hygear tripple rate springs, 6.9 pilot skis, and readjusted the rear suspension. The sled now out handles my Attak in all ares. Corners flat, handles rough trails great. And is sweet in off trail deep snow conditions.

uhhhhh........ the nytro handles way better than the apex, right out of the box. I have a gt apex and an xtx nytro, keeping both till I die. apex is a tonka toy compared to the xtx. you have it all wrong. my apex handles good, just a sit down ride, cruiser. nytro will do anything you can muscle it to do, ride in, no comparison.

Last weekend up in the mountains we did about 80 miles of trails the first day and i was going an average speed of 60 the whole time. I thought it handles awesome. Rode a pro RMK on the trail for about 20 miles and i couldn't wait to get back to my nytro. I have the skinz front end and Simmons gen 2 skis with the 6" carbides. Love the sled.

I ran a 136" oft extension, z broz 43" a arm kit and stock shocks last year and it was the best handling trail sled i have ever rode.

With all the time and money I've put into my 08 Nytro I can now honestly say......THIS SLED IS HOOKED UP! I ride with 10 to 15 different sleds of all makes and not one of them can come close to sticking with me on the tight, twisty, rough trails. I'm not sure if it's possible to get an Apex to handle this well and for a long time I didn't believe the Nytro had a chance of ever being the aggressive trail sled I was looking for. I've rode the Apex and Vector many times and have not yet rode one that comes close to this. The 128" relocate with the Ice Attack rocks.

my 06 Apex rtx rode and handled very well, I have been trying to make my 09 nytro as good if not better than the apex, have added trail tank, yamie gas caddies, this gives me about 180 miles range, a m10 metric with fox shocks, nothing trail rides like a m-10, ski tracker agresive runners, 96 studs, and the best thing fox air shocks on the front set at 40 psi, I weigh 210 and ride in Quebec on mostly well grommed trails. This sled now hooks up and is a joy to ride. no darting, just the right amount of sag and the front shocks keep both skis planted in the twisties. next season I am streching it to a 136 with a ice ripper and assault air shocks. already ordered the parts.
