I am not disappointed in the sled, it is about time they took a shot at a true crossover, however am a little disappointed in with the track, hopefully they left some room in the new tunnel to put something with a taller lug where you don't have to change drivers, remove tunnel protectors and move heat exchangers.

My question is how can you be unhappy if you dont take the time and try the sled.... I think if I gave you $10 bucks you would want $20....

I think it's a great sled minus the 1.25" ripsaw...that is a worthless track off the trail. I really thought they would've been unvailing the new Apex which I believe is coming in March. I think the comparison video's to the other 3 mfg sleds is hilarious...basically saying to BRP, "yep, we can make a bull$h!t video just like you". Everyone needs to quit their pissing and moaning for god sakes...it's one flippin' sled that was released early for whatever marketing reason! Some of you guys are talking about jumping ship because you got out of bed early to look at a damn website and it wasn't the sled you wanted? Give me a break!

Hope I'm wrong, but... I don't think there's going to be anything but BNG in March. Yamaha has bet the whole ranch on this Nytro platform and the development/marketing dollars are going to go that direction. They need to prove that chassis before they dump any different motors in it. At this point, based on the direction they look like they are going, they aren't going to spend one dime on the Apex except for paint and decals and looking at the Apex RTX the last two seasons, we'll be lucky if we see that. Besides, the snowmobile market still sucks and Yamaha is picking up market share with what they have right now and that's all the bean counters care about.
Yamaha definitely doesn't seem too threatened in the 4 stroke market anyway based on that turd Ski-Doo announced for next year. Talk about waving the white flag! Let's build a motor that bests the Nytro mill by 150 ccs, makes the same power, but doesn't fall under any 600 class ISR rules so anyone who wants to race it can't. WTF? With all do respect to Rotax, Yamaha's 4 stroke engine development is so far ahead of them, that when/if the industry completely goes that direction it sould be a rout!

I'm still waiting for a 4 cylinder Venture. Been waiting since 2003! Its so easy to build. The motor is a drop in. But I cry in my beer again year after year.
Why does two up touring mean a lesser motor?
Maybe I'm just a 60's-70's gear head that remembers when mega motors powered land yahts with a simple check of a box.
Maybe I just want too much? I wonder am I the only guy that wants a two up hyper sled?
Probably!
As you guys all get excited over big bump warm weather sleds I dream of a 180hp rocket couch. Lots of wind protection, room for two in comfort, plush ride, four stroke and mind boggling acceleration in something that looks like grandpa's sled.
I still have my last rocket couch, I still ride it every year, it still makes me smile as I pass the C note on a 625pd dry weight two up 1000cc beast that will hit 96mph on radar in the 1/4 with my fat arse on its back (thats about a half ton of man and machine) in warm weather and poor snow. Two bad its a smoker and nearing the end of its life as a reliable sled.
If Yami or anyone else ever builds one like it minus the smoker mill. I'll buy a new sled in Canada and pay list, no questions asked other then where do I sign.
So be happy you guys because at least the factorys are building sleds a lot closer to your wet dreams then mine.

I think you should just switch now.Fort Mac said:SO.....the debate begins....Yamaha launches a xtx...yawn....with upgraded....yawn....stuff...
I am not impressed at all...if I owned a MTX I would have done most of those mods myself...here is I was thinking about running out to the local yamaha dealership and putting dollars down on the newest hottest sled...yawn...and I get a streched Nytro with a few garage mods....come on guys.....skidoo is kicking our a$$ light weight this, light weight that and all we can come up with is a 144"?
Yamaha has a chance this year to set the bar once again....hope it comes in march or I might switch to the new 4 stroke sled...truly disappointed!!
Bring on the HP and a stock turbo!!! Time to think outside the box....
Im not dissapointed at all! This sled is what everyone wanted last year, and now that its here all we hear is complaints. I think they have done the right thing with dealing with the minor things that is not so good on the 08 Nytro. Frontend geo and tunnel.

This new nytro, if you believe the reviews, should just about be the best all-around sled on the market, at home anywhere you want to take it and 4-stroke too.
For anyone who is disappointed, I noticed, the day before the launch, that a small pic on the yamaha site annoucing the new sled looked strange. As usual, it was obscured in snow with little to see. But it was a head on shot of an fx style sled with THREE BULBS IN THE HEADLIGHT. Three widely spaced bulbs in the headlight. Couldn't save the pic at the time and now its gone. Everyone of us knows its coming this year. The only question is how much hp.
Until then, the xtx is a nice option, the swiss-army knife of sleds or maybe the swiss-army machete.

It seems like all everyone complained about for the last two+ yars was that Yamha has no Crossover. No they do, looks good. I think it fills a gap in their line up perfectly. If your into crossover type riding I don't think you want a 150 hp at the expense of 150 pounds. So using the Nytro Platform made sense. The track could probly be better but there may be an optional 1.5" like on the Mtn. Over all I think it's a good release and fits requests quite well.

I would have like to see the Cobra track on the Nytro's

I think we over-hyped new sled, not Yamaha. I think i was expecting completely new sled to one up the DOOS. XTX fits in line up nicely, but still has 7.4 gallon gas tank & crappy skis we all have changed. I hope they fixed the SERIOUS front A-arm problems!

I have said the same thing here more than once. If Yamaha would release a 170 hp Venture I would buy it tomorrow.

I am VERY DISAPOINTED!!!
I wanted Yamaha to come out with a sled that would work my 2 jobs, mow my lawn and do my gardening. I will take care of the Beer making.
Or If they would hire me to test ride their new sleds and pay me enough money so I can enjo my hobbies. Also so I can take care of my ridding buddies so they do not have to work.
SO YES I AM VERY DISAPOINTED!!!!!
As for the XTX
