WHY SO MUCH VARIANCE IN PRICE ON 06 SLEDS?

I see they say at the bottom "plus freight and any taxes". I wonder what they get for freight? This is one area where a dealer can make another few bucks.

For me the taxes wouldn't be an issue...and anyone in neighboring states selling vehicles going to NH don't charge us taxes, and just put down that it was delivered to N.H. Shipping would be another thing though...I guess it depends on the dealer how much they want to try to add on.

I can go down to Iowa buy an Apex rtx for 8795, and pay no sales tax cuz I live in Mn. When I register in mn, they don't collect sales tax on sleds bought out of state. Not yet anyway. I would save 6.5%. THats worth driving 87 miles.

That is a link I borrowed from another thread that shows a dealer in Albany, NY selling Apex GTs for $9063. I browsed around the site to make sure it wasn't a bogus site, but it sure seems legit. They show retail as $10,899. Since I can't find a decent dealer in NH, and warranty service here is completely ignored, I would sure be willing to drive a few hours to save some $$$.

As for prices, I can't speak for many sleds, but when I bought my '03 I saw prices just in NH ranging from $8600-$9800 on the exact same '03 RX-1 ER. I got mine for $8900 out the door, with no extra parts or goodies thrown in. I paid a few hundred extra so that I could buy locally and keep my local dealer happy. If I'm known they would end up screwing me over, I would have just saved the extra $300.

Plus 225 for freight and shipping equals ~9300.

Welt, I live in the Chicagoland area and I can tell you Highlands Yamaha clearly has the best prices around here. If I get an Apex GT this year I will be buying it from them. I have never bought a sled from there before but after talking to enough people I couldn't believe the prices they are selling sleds for. I called there and was quoted prices right over the phone and they are by far the best prices. If anyone has doubt just call yourself it is the easiest way to know. If you are questioning what people are saying they paid then call the dealer. Highlands # is (708) 246-4003 and ask to talk to someone in sales, that is all I did and they quoted $9,300 if you want the accessories or $8,900 if you don't. Again, I have never even been to the store and they quoted that over the phone. And if ANYONE questions the price pick up your phone and call, its that simple!
