Why would A/F reading go to 4.5 on idle?

I have a mcx rear mount 310 kit apex that I just had work done to. New valves ,RX1 header pipes welded to mc pipe and spain coated. Would ceramic coating change my a/f reading from 12.5 to 4.5 at idle? No snow so haven't riden when guage worked. Rode once and seemed way rich at first until way warmed up then it still wasn't snappy like it used to be. Please help; Thanks

Are you sure your wideband is working right? Is it a innovate? Seems to me that it's more of a wideband problem. The work you had done is not going to effect your a/f ratio.

The sensor has failed or you have a wiring problem.
No way an engine would run at 4.5:1

Ted.

It would be correct if you were running it on Methanol! As snowy1 said, try a recalibration on the sensor, otherwise it looks like you will need a new sensor.

Thanks for the replys, It is an innovate. The reading would jump all over and read 18 at times when full throttle, I did recalibrate it and did put in a new bosh sensoe and still 4.5. At least now it is a steady number. If only it was the right numbers. Guess I will try a whole new system. Don't like not knowing the A/F ratio.

travelor i had the same problem so i called innovate and talked to felipe.he told me it was my fuel setting that had changed some how in the LC 1.i had to plug the LC 1 into my laptop and follow his instructions over the phone, but still no go.i ended up sending it into innovate to get repaired.it might be just your fuel settings.

I also had the same problem. Reprogrammed the baseline number with my laptop and it has been working for about 8 rides. Somehow the baseline got changed from 14.7 to something like 1200. I think when the gauge gets exposed to alot of moisture it freaks out.

Good call millstreet :)
