Will I be happy going from '01 Polaris 600xcsp to Vector ER

I got the vector gt end of last season, i like it. i got use to it right away. steering was good power ok. rode for 2 days. my 01 xcsp 600 w/edge is fast too. i never like the steering til that guy of my put apair of c&s ski's on for me. then he buys me the gt . what, up with that must of been a good deal!!!!!!! go for it i don't think you can go wrong i don't miss buying the oil :-o :-o :-o

I ride with a buddy who has a couple of '02 XC 800's , '03 XC 600 , and a '04 XC 600 m-10 , all Poo's . He loved the ride , cornering , and fuel mileage of the Vector . It's colder than his Poo's , hyfax wear is more ( we rode the same trails at the same time ) , but says his next sled will be a vector , because of the good points out weighing the bad by far . We switch sleds all the time , his worse fear was the extra weight , he's very weight consious , and all he kept saying over the 2200 some miles we rode was .... " where's the weight , you can't feel it ! " Every time we filled at the gas stations I put 1 1/2 to 3 gals. less than him at every stop ! Pissed him off totally every time , we ride hard some days WOT , other days lazy rides to save the body for the next weeks work . It will run with all four sled till top end 90-100 then he'll slowly walk on me . Bottom line , a die-hard Poo fan for 25 some years ( my buddy ) defends my Yami more than I do when the sled arguements start after a couple of drinks !! That makes my purchase of this sled feel better and better every time he brags up my Yami , and not about the other sleds we've been on . Hope this helps !!

My 05 Vector ER is a great sled to own. I just wish the rear suspension was more compliant when the trail gets rough. The weight will reveal itself then. My 93 Storm has the Expert X rear end with a BLT front suspension. Now thats how a heavy sled should react when the trail gets rutted-out.

To me the sleds are similar in that neither are rider forward. My brother's girlfriend has an '01 600 XCSP and the rider position felt further rearward than a stock Vector.

The Vector will probably feel more refined to you than the Poo because there is little vibration, noise or smoke. It will feel heavier because it is heavier and the 3-cyl has more gyroscopic precession than the 2-stroke twin. The stock Vector does not ride well when pushed (it is way too soft and bottoms). Fortunately there is nothing wrong with the chassis, just put good shocks on it, a rider forward steering post and it feels very controlable. When I compare her sled to mine it feels like I riding on the back part of the running boards with her Poo. I far prefer my Vector, but you will need to ride both before you decide.

I ride with 2 guys that had 02' polaris with M-10s, and ive riden them several times, and also a 02 polaris with the Edge suspension!..

I have also riden the Vector and Rage..

Power wise i would say they are equal, but the vector is much torqier!

Handling is about the same..

the M-10 and Edge are slightly better than the vectors. expecially in the rough stuff..

If you ride alot... You would save enough money in gas and oil compared to the Polaris over the next 5 years to pay for that new sled!!!!!!

Best ive seen any 600 polaris Edge chassis sled get is 10mpg.. vector gets 18-20 and doesnt require oil!

The polaris is a loud with alot of vibration and weird noises..

THe vector is smooth and extremely rigid!!

For your type of riding id get a NYTRO!!
