Hi guys i have a dodge ram with 6' box and i just bought a apex mtx and i'm spose to pick this sled up on my way home in a couple weeks if it will fit. The big question is will this thing fit? Looking at this pic i'd say my attak hangs out close to a foot and its making me think the apex could be a problem. its a 3hour drive on a bumpy road to home with the sled... have any of you guys tried this or should i find some other way to get that thing home now cause i'm gonna be pissed if i get there and can't take it

A trick I did once is bring a 2" x 10" or 12" by 10' and once the sled is loaded get someone to lift the rear track off your truck bed and slip the 2" x 10" to give it EXTRA SUPPORT extending over tailgate.

Have a buddy that hauls his in a Frod Crew-cab F-350 with a 6 ft. bed and tailgate down. But they are 11 1/2' feet long.

well it sounds like its posible the tailgate will give me some extra length probably only stick out 3' so i'd say it can be done even if i have to use boards.
thanks guys i never seen it and there is none around where i live so i had no clue how long it really was. can't wait to get home and try this thing out my friends have been riding for over a month now and i'm still out to sea

Use a few tie downs and it will ride just fine. With the tail gate down there is enough support for the sled.
When I brought my sons sled home I was not thinking and figured I would do the same thing, have it thrown in the back of a truck. I had my head up my a-- and drove my beater truck with a short bed and NO tailgate. When we threw the sled it the back it was hanging out quite a ways. I just used a few tie downs and it made the 27mile ride home.......

I put my Venture Gt in my 6' box..It does stick out quite a bit.Like apltx08 said put a piece of 2by4 under the suspension at the very back of the box just before the tailgate, I have seen a tail gate buckle in the centre because of a snowmachine. Coulpe rachet straps and you are good to go..

if you have a reese hitch & access to 2" square tubing. I have a 03 dodge short bed, with the tail gate down, measure the lenght til you pass the tail gate, then measure up to one inch above the tail gate(dodge tail gate are not that strong for the bumpy roads all the weight is on your tail gate if the roads out there are as good as here in ontario you will b happy) I wish my friend hadn't borrow it for he's sled, I would post a picture.
like I said pinned to your reese hitch, pass your tail gate( you may go longer), than up till 1inch above your tail gate(no weight on the tail gate), than a crosser piece that you rest the sled track on I went the 4 feet wide to keep it versatile. good luck

Ah, just put the tailgate up while the sled is in there.
It will fit my buddy has the same truck and sled. Hauled it around 800 km to go and pick it up. We strapped the front and back down. Not a problem but a board or two would take some stress off the tailgate.

This may be overkill but it works great at spreading out the weight especially over the tailgate. I didn't want to buy a new trailer to get the new sled to the trails so this was a nice option and it works great for hauling around just one at a time. Just a few hours to put together.
It shows one of my Ventures but the 09xtx will be on it this year.
Good luck
