I spoke with a gentleman at a suspension shop and he indicated that the shocks would bolt up, but would need to be shortened. Looking at the Nytro compared to the Phazer today, it looks like the bottom of the Nytro shocks would be too wide to fit on the Phazer.
So, does anybody know if Nytro shocks will work on the Phazer? If so, how did they work out?
Thanks in advance!

i'm thought they are 1'' shorter than phaz's. shorter or longer i can't remember. sorry.
as far as width of the eyelets (where the bolt goes in), you can just machine down the spacer possibly.

According to diamond shocks ( Freddy) 1.5 inch or more difference in center to center doesn't work stock and isn't worth messing with. Phazer are 15" center to center,2008-10 nytro are 17.75 that's a ton of difference. I know one phazer owner who ran 05 or 06 apex/nytro shocks at 16" center to center and said they worked fine. Take that for what it's worth.

Also read on here that YFZ450 (atv) shocks are very close c-c to the phazers shocks. I believe he had to grind very minimal aluminum to make them fit properly. They are dual rate to. Also, take it for what its worth.

I found some very cheap pair of fox floats from Nytro vm.2008, could i somehow fit those on my Phazer mountain lite? Is it hard to shorten those floats?

I asked the person at the suspension shop mentioned in my original post about shortening float shocks and he told me it would be so expensive that it wouldn't be worth it. My understanding is that they can't just cut down the shock shaft like on a regular shock, but that parts actually have to be replaced to shorten them.
When shocks are shortened normally just a spacer is added internally. That is easy to do and a float is no different most floats have them already.Only thing else to pay attention to is the length of the shaft (travel) after it is shortened.

NO, Nytro shocks will not fit the Phazer, the bottom is wider on one of them. I know because I was going to try the clicker shocks from my Nytro on my Phazer to see if it would help the handling and notice it was not going to work. I ended up putting a set of 07fx shocks on it inplace of the floats.

why would you need to improve the handeling i can turn the sled around on the trail withought getting off or shifting into reverse... cant really handle better then that, even at speeds i find the phazers handeling is great as long as your an active rider

It's not about the handling... I'm a fat arse and need a stiffer setup in the front. Unfortunately, I have the base model so my front shocks are the non-rebuilable type.

The A-arms are shorter on the MTX, not to sure about the shock mounts. I'm pretty sure Yamaha wouldn't use 2 shock lengths on the Phazer.
