Will R-1 jetting kit work on an RX-1?

Has anyone tried this! I have dyno session booked for next week, and was considering installing the kit .

It will not work. All the new R1's are fuel injected with a "ram air" style airbox. The carbureted versions of these are also a ram air style airbox that is entirely different than the airbox on your sled. The carburetors are not the same style either in that the motorcycle has a full downdraft intake port on the cylider head. The RX1 has a downdraft cylinder head with a sidedraft intake manifold and sidedraft style carbs.

Your best bet for easy power is our Airfilter kits.

Lydon is absolutely correct for all the above stated reasons... However, a jet ket made for an FZ1 motorcycle should work. THe FZ1 never had ram air or fuel injection and is a much closer match in engine design than the R1 (both are based on the R1). In fact, it's basicaly the same motor minus the transmission. Try cross checking the part # for a FZ1 carb and an RX1 carb at the dealer. If they're the same, then it should work.

This is what I have been saying all along. I have bugged these guys (Dynojet) on several occassions to let us do the testing for them and see if their kits work on the RX-1. I would bet there is a racer or two that have already tried them and have not said a word. Here's a link to Dynojets website. It has horsepower and torque gains for each kit and the prices. PB
