2007 Attak
I'm trying to maximize cargo space on my new to me 07 Attak. I like the combo bag for the back, but not how the straps go across the exhaust covers. I'm sure they will scratch and scuff them all up. So I'm thinking about adding a nose bag if I can find on that will work.

This model, SMA-8FP13-10-00, says it's made for 2009 Apex's, so I'm wondering if it would fit in the nose of an 07 Attak. Anyone know how similar they are? I believe 2006-2009 are pretty much the same.

Thanks!

If you ever upgrade to a 2011 or newer with EPS, the bag will still work, it will just have a bit less capacity. There are some sharp components under the nose cone as well. So taking it in and out is tricky but possible.

I use that back for a tow rope, micro jumper cables, and relays. The stuff that you want along, but may not use very often if ever.

Yup, that's my plan. Use it for the stuff I hope I don't need, or don't need very often. It says it only has a 2 pound max limit. Seems very low. Now that you'd go with much more in there, but a tow strap, and few odds and ends are likely more than that. Why such a low rating?

Rating really means nothing, as I don't even use the velcro straps that are included. It's in a hole that is barely the size of the bag. It's not going anywhere. That two pounds was probably determined by the ability of the velcro straps hung from a horizontal bar in a lab. There is no weight limitation, only physical size of the hole.

You will have no issues putting whatever you can get in the bag.

Good luck!

I just ordered one for my 06 Attak. Same idea, stuff for nice to haves like toe strap, fuses, etc.

Yup. A few wheel bearings. Extra fuel pump and starter relay. Etc.

If you put that bag in the nose does it affect or overheat the power steering unit

Good luck!

Good question. I wouldn't think so since they make the bag for that area. My sled doesn't have power steering though, it just has a voltage regulator or something in there. There are cooling fins on it, but again I'm assuming it's not an issue since it's designed to be in there.

I've been carrying a tow strap, bungee cords and tools in my nose bag for years with no issues. you'd be surprised what you can pack in there.

I will soon find out! LOL
With a little McGyvering, you can stuff lots of goodies in the nose area. I have jumper cables tucked down in the bottom of the nose and still have room for 4 beers stuffed in gloves or heavy socks and mine is a 15. Beer stays nice and cold vs the trunk.

Start the snow dance!

Cheers

Thanks for the link. Those are cheap!

Agreed, for the money, you cannot beat the storage it adds!
