Which windshield height do most ride with? I bought the sled with a 14" I just installed a 8 1/2". The 14 is way to big for me, I think the 8 1/2" looks great but worried about wind deflection being minimal. How does the 10 1/2" work?
Thanks Al

I have the rtx se blue one, not sure on height, but on cold days it's a bit nippy (-20 or colder) but I usually stay home those days/nights. A good helmet makes a difference. I run a moto x helmet with goggles until it gets colder then I have a traditional modular helmet, better wind protection

This is the 81/2"

I wouldn't even worry about that. I have the power madd hand guards with flare extension and factory windshield with less coverage than yours and can feel it on cold days but nothing terriable. Enjoy

Mines not for looks for sure. For really cold days I have the yamaha extra large. Also have wrp seat which raises you up a bit. Otherwise I use the large.

I have the short windshield and although it looks cool it makes for some cold days on the sled. Does anyone know the part # for the medium height Yamaha Windshield?

i have cut down my shield too a minimum, use it only to have a sticker with my forum name on it. I just put on clothes when i ride:)

if you want to sell the 14" windshield I will take it! I go on a charity ride every year where we try to put on a minimum of 500 miles/day. if it happens to be a cold day the taller windshield would make it a lot easier to complete the 500 miles! right now I run the 10" windshield for everyday riding and like it.

Ok, I think I will go with the Medium height windshield. I will not use gauntlets, I have not used them since the old SS440 days. Smarter and older now I guess. lol Oh, I don't stand and ride, for 250 miles a day.

Do you want to sell the 14" windi? If so, how much shipped to 54739?

I run the 8 1/2 with powermadd hand guards. Have different coats and pants that I choose to wear dependent on weather.
