Windshield options for the Apex GT

Has anyone upgraded the hood ornament on their Apex GT for a windshield that will actually block wind? If so, is it still chrome?

I think I read on this site Sporttech is making them for Yamaha.

Is the windshield on the Apex-GT the same as the one on the Vector-GT. I sat on a Vector-GT at Pioneer yesterday and the windshield is flat black on the inside. I don't remember that from my first looks at it. Doug

I dont think they are the same...You would have to have Port verify that.

I hope Sportech produces Cobras for the Apex this year. Their wind screens have great looks and normally better protection than stockers.

GT/RTX wind shields

Sporttech is suppling wind shields for Yamaha this year. I emailed them this spring and asked what plans they made for the Apex line. They will only be available at Yamaha dealers this year. And yes, I'll be going will the taller wind shield because of the poor protection that the GT and RTX have.

talked to Sportech today, they are supplying the W/S's to Yamaha and the aftermarket will not have any this season.
