Has anyone ever just installed one scratcher? Maybe one is all that's needed.

On the Viper I had 2 installed, but only used 1, most of the time.

Highly recommend Travis' mounts if you want them on your skis. I had these on my sidewinder thankfully when I crossed a RR Trestle bridge that had minimal snow on it and the scratchers were ripped right off the skis (In stow position). If I didn't have the breakaway bracket from Travis I imagine a bolt on application would have torn right out of the ski. I'll never run them on the skis again.
