I'm new to the XTX this year and really like the sled, but I found that groomed trail riding at a fast(er) pace proved to be difficult due to the normal issues discussed on this site which include twitcihness (darting) and tippiness.
I put Slydog ski's on from the beginning.
After trying all adjustments, I was ready to revalve this summer. As a last ditch effort, I did the following all at once.
3/8" shims under back of ski rubber (previously had 1/4" which did not help)
Added ski savers from Bergstrom
Increased ski stance to maximum - both bushings outside of ski.
After riding it this weekend, it seemed like a different sled!!! Tracked straight, turned predictably, and had no tippiniess. I ride fairly aggressive and did not push the sled anywhere near what it could do.
