Here's a rough drawing of what I'm thinking. Horizontal lines are the cross shaft, the Blue verticals are the current Limiter strap positions, the Red Lines are the proposed, the square in the middle would be the double backer or plate that would pull the two straps togather and keep them away from the cogs. Again there may be other ways to do this I'm just thinking that my Apex had 7,000 miles and not one limiter strap issue, there are obvious differences but the one that sticks out in my mind is that the limiter is one wider strap in the center of the shaft.
