Well I tore down the RX1 exhaust and both the y pipes off the head are shot, no gasket and the flanges are toast. May be able to get flanges at work and weld on. Anyone have any other options/suggestions? Almost $300 each for these pipes. 5,500 miles and out of warranty

The flex pipes are great just the two 2 into 1 pipes are bad. Didn't tear down the Attak yet...not sure I want to see it!
my h section cracked on my 03 rx-1 and i found a used exhaust on e-bay for under $200.00 including shipping.sled was loud and fast as hell when it broke.

I have a set of Y pipes from an '03 in very good shape. They don't have the factory heat shields on them anymore, but you could swap your's over onto these if you wanted to.
PM me an ofer if you're interested.

I've been told in the past that they will work and they are more durable.
Unfortunately I can't confirm this, nor do I know anyone who has done it.
There's also the question of if you need to run the entire 03/04 exhaust as well plus the question on how this will affect performance.
I think I would probably get your pipes welded up to repair them. You could probably consider making the connection stronger somehow also (I would if I was out of warranty).
I'll be pulling my 07 RTX apart tomorrow to change my donuts too. Hopefully the pipes are still OK. Right now out of the 3 remaining Apex's I ride with (including mine), all of them have huge exhaust leaks right now (one is being replaced with his new REV-XP, so he isn't in a hurry to fix his yet).
Now that we've addressed all of the other weaknesses, the exhaust system on these sleds is by far the biggest maintenance problem.

I have an 04 Warrior and the crossover pipe at the front of the Silencer assembly, in the center of the skid cracked in two spots all the way around
I Heli Arched them myself, they are Stainless Steel! So as far as them being more durable than there Titanium counterparts?
Here is something to consider; the SR 71 BlackBird's fuselage is made of Titanium because of its ability to handle extreme temperature changes!
The two most useful properties of Titanium are corrosion resistance, and the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal

Well anyone with 4000-5000 miles on any 4 stroke yamaha i would suggest you check it out before the pipes go bad...alot cheaper to just do the donuts. And be ready to use heat to get the 2 allen head bolts out, they are for sure locked in!

From looking at the prices on the 04's Silencer Assembly $431. Compared to $425 for the 05's, Its possible that they are both Stainless Steel. The two front connector pipes for the 04 are $180 for both compared to $442 for the 05's! All the other parts are comparable in price!
This would lead me to believe, that the only sections made out of Titanium are these two front connector pipes!

Yeah the 05's on are titanium... the 06 Attaks are a little longer (makes sense 136") than the 05 RX1 but have the exact same bends
