Hey guys, I wanted to buy these adjustable risers for my 2009 Apex MTX from yamaha but wondered does it work out of the box? if so how much, the info says it works with adjustable pivot so i wondered if you needed to buy one of those in addition to this? Yamaha info says this : I wonder how much adjustment is with either one, it says 4-6" but don't say for use which which pivot block.
ny info would be great, thanks.
Features super-quick rider adjustment which allows you to tailor your ride to the terrain. Polished silver body. Use in conjunction with either the Short (SMA-PVADP-SH-00) or Tall (SMA-PVADP-TL-00) Pivot Blocks, both sold separately. 4"-6".

Yes you need to use a pivot adapter. The height would be which ever height you like. They are really pricey. I am not sure how tall the factory riser is on an mtx but the 4 to 6" riser is that high it just depends on the adapter. Another option would be going directly to RX speed they have many more options in height. I used a 6" to 8" on my warrior with mountain cables . hope this helps.

so this adapter replaces the stock riser? I thought it was something that went on the top.
No the pivot adapter mounts to the top of the steering post then the adjustable riser mounts to the adapter. Do you have an accessories catalog?

Ok so the tall 2" riser with the 4-6" adjustable one will give me 8" total, I have the stock one now with a 4" riser on that so that won't work for me. And no I don't have an acc catalogue, just looked the info up online.
You might be able to use that tall of a riser many have rerouted cables and had enough length. Check rx speed website they have many options it is the same company that supplies yamaha. And they are cheeper.
I am sorry the site is Rox speed fx.

LOL, I searched everywhere for RX speed but it was not a snowmobile site. Both of you guys said RX so I thought that can't be a mistake, they can't mean Rox l0l
I already have a longer throttle cable, i just want to keep the same height I have not but want to lower it 2" for when my daughter drives it since she is only 5'6 and I am 6'3

you could put a short 2" riser on with the pivot block on top and then the rox adjustable riser.

I looked at the Rox as well for my Apex. Is it true you have to take the chrome collar off as well? I was bummed by that, as the tank/dash area is so nice on the Apex. I really wanted to keep it stock looking, but use the riser for a couple extra inches in the ditches. I gave up and left it stock for now.
You can check lakeffect website. In the gallery last picture they used a pivot with the chrome ring very nice product.

They do have nice products. I had not seen an adjustable riser from Lake Effect. I had my previous Apex with a pivot riser. But on my new sled, I was thinking it would be nice to lower them down for trails, but raise them when I know I would be in the ditches or off trail. So far, it is fine stock, but we have not busted many ditches yet. Thank you!
You are correct , i don't see an adjustable risers on lake effects site ,but the pivot riser he makes for the Apex would work with an adjustable riser from rox. The only issue is they are out of stock at this time on rox site.
