Just picked up these new Yamaha warmers because one stopped working and the dealer said that 99% of the time it's the element that breaks. Only about $130 for the pair and the dealer said that they push about double the amount of heat out compared to the stock ones. Just wondering if I should know of any pointers while putting these warmers on? Is it pretty easy to install?

Wow that's pricey. They more than likely won't be any warmer. The nytros poor hand warmer issue is they way their programmed to operate. I bought grips and warmers for my sled from main motor sports for around $70-$80.

Put low expansion foam in your hollow bars at the same time, it helps a bit.

If one fails quite often the other one is not far from the same fate. Your dealer is correct 99% chance your element is toast. Because the ones you bought are different from stock you should change them both because one may heat more than the other. They both need to be the same. There are a couple important things to know. Make sure there are no wrinkles in your element and put lots of the glue on. A wrinkled element will prematurely fail and adequate glue will act as a lube to slide the grip on and it will also prevent the grip from twisting after the glue dries. Loose grips will wreck your elements also. You need to do this in a warm garage.
In my opinion there is only one way to improve the performance of your heaters. -> http://www.sledstart.com/yamaheater.htm

Sorry, I should have read all the posts before I replied, I did use these and they were much hotter than the OEMs, I put these on one sled and RSIs on the other and both are very good.

Put a wrap of electrical tape around the end of the element right where you'll slide the entire grip over. Makes it so the element doesn't lift as you slide the grip on. Coat the inside of the grip very thinly with glue and immediately slide it almost home, stop an inch short and coat the bar where your about to slide over then send it home

Those elements aren't spi's. personally if return them, get the spis, the spi grips, and I forget who makes it, but it's a 2 part glue that's grey, or use gorilla glue, or super cheap hit the bar end with clear spray paint, blast the inside of the grip with the paint, then slide it home

I had one fail once, or so I thought, that's what happens when you steal juice from the wrong wire

I'm with you, that kit is very over priced.
