It seems that whenever there are a number of riders experiencing failure of a component on these sleds, that Yamaha is always back ordered on them.

They shouldn't twist if the rivets are in place. I just went out a tried to twist mine and there's no way I could budge it. Even worse, my dealer got me a left side element because the right side is on backorder, but the path of the wires exiting the element itself obstructs the throttle, so I can't install the new elementI am not a happy camper right now

If you haven't already done so check with RSI, that's where yamaha gets them anyway or at least when I opened my yamaha upgrade kit from the dealer they had RSI all over them.
Thanks for the advice. I have the RSI elements and grips on my RTX and they're awesome. The thing is, I shouldn't have to resort to doing that. Yamaha should have a supply of these on hand no questions asked, especially since a lot of guys have complained about the warmers the past few years. And the dealer said that the right side elements are on backorder until the end of March, so I'm SOL in the middle of the season ! Imagine, gave me a left side element thinking it would work on the right side....
